Thomas Carlyle Ford is an American fashion designer and filmmaker. He launched his eponymous luxury brand in 2006, having previously served as the creative director at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. Born August 27, 1961. He is currently Chairman of the Board of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Tom Ford virtually unveiled his fall 2021 womens and menswear collections virtually, via CFDA’s Runway360 platform. The looks he showcased, the creator noted in the accompanying show’s notes, were not what he originally envisioned for the season: he believed that in the fall, after more than ‘a year of soft interior clothes, he would like to go all – on glamor – but in the end, he decided to marry the’ handmade, couture ‘elements his brand is known for with more casual and basic silhouettes.
