Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s sitting conversation with Oprah has been described as an explosive, honest and intimate conversation unlike any royal fans have ever seen. But it is also the first joint TV interview the couple have given since stepping down as Duke and Duchess of Sussex and since news of their second child broke. So what do we wear for such an important occasion? Armani.
In a new teaser for the special, which airs on March 7, Markle can be seen in a black silk Armani dress, featuring an asymmetrical floral pattern and a matching belt. She completed the polished look with a pair of simple yet sophisticated black pumps from one of her favorite shoe brands, Aquazzura.
Unsurprisingly, her hair was pulled up into her signature low bun for the event. But Markle added a surprise touch with a bolder-than-usual beauty look, opting for a thicker eye, coral cheeks, and a glossy pink lip.
According to fashion account @MeghansMirror, Markle’s accessorized the outfit with a necklace from designer Pippa Small, earrings from Canadian retailer Maison Birks and a diamond bracelet believed to be a Cartier heirloom from Princess Diana’s collection.
The outfit definitely moves away from the accessible and (rightly) Californian style of Markle to which it has largely returned since moving to Montecito. But the overall more dressy feel seems appropriate given how heavy and emotional their interview is about to be.
In clips that air on February 28, viewers hear Prince Harry talk about his mother’s struggles with the press and the royal family. “For me, I’m really glad and happy to be sitting here with my wife by my side talking to you, because I can’t start to assume what it was like for [my mother] to go through this whole process alone those years ago.”
